How Our Carpentry Workshop Began

When we launched our Beehive Project in collaboration with ERP (Elephants, Rhinos, People Namibia), we needed beehives.

So, the obvious thing to do was to utilise this as an opportunity to provide more training and upskilling for the local community.

Four community members were trained as carpenters. They were responsible for building the first 100 beehive boxes, and they have continued to produce more boxes for distribution around the local village too.

Today, our carpenters can be found working on multiple other creative projects including beautiful jewellery boxes that can be purchased from The Sijwa Boutique at Nambwa Tented Lodge.
