    FREQUENT QUESTIONS
    • How customisable are these tours?

Each tour can be customised, but there are certain limitations. Please see each tour description for more information on customising.

    • Can kids go on safari in Africa?

Absolutely, we cater to families with kids. We even offer tailored packages for kids on safari, featuring fun and educational activities (including camping in the wild!) to keep you and the little ones busy and entertained. Please see our Kids on Safari activity for more information.

    • What are the risks of bush walking?

Our guides are extremely professional and skilled, so there’s no need to worry while on a game drive or a guided bush walk. They regularly scout the area before taking guests out and remain in communication with each other via walkie talkies, ensuring they always have eyes on the wildlife.

    • When is the best time to see wildlife in Namibia?

At African Monarch Lodges, we have wildlife roaming the area year round. However, if you specifically want to see large herds of elephants, it’s best to come from June to November, before the rainy season, which is when they begin their migration to Angola.

    • Do I need to worry about malaria when travelling on an Africa safari?

Although there is a risk of malaria in these regions, insect repellent containing DEET and mosquito nets over the beds are very helpful in deterring mosquitoes. However, should you wish to take additional precautions and use anti-malarial prophylactics, consult your doctor for advice at least three weeks before departure to Africa.
